Plant Summary

The wild aster, Felicia erigeroides, is an attractive perennial shrub with colorful daisy-like flowers. Growing up to one meter tall, it blooms prolifically with white, pink, mauve, or lilac ray florets and yellow disc florets from March to July. It thrives in full sun and tolerates wind, sand, and coastal gardens. Prune after flowering to maintain shape. Propagate from cuttings or seed. The Zulu use leaf infusions as a purgative for stomach ailments. With its tough and showy nature, it makes an excellent garden plant for borders, containers, or fynbos beds.
