Plant Summary

Jasminum angulare, also called wild jasmine, is a hardy, evergreen climbing shrub. This drought-resistant plant can grow up to 7 meters tall in sun or semi-shade conditions. It has dark, glossy leaves and produces fragrant white, star-shaped flowers from spring into summer. The sweetly-scented blooms are used in potpourri and traditional medicine. A slow growing vine, Jasminum angulare works well trained over arches, fences, and trellises. Its beauty and evening fragrance also make it ideal near sitting areas. The leaves and flowers provide protection from lightning in Zulu culture.
