Introduction to Botanical Inks: 15 November

R575.00

Discover the surprising colours hidden in plants through this playful introduction to botanical ink making.

Nikki will introduce participants to the process of creating inks from botanical materials, with a focus on ethical harvesting and developing a deeper relationship with the plants and landscapes around us. She will demonstrate the colour extraction, after which participants will complete the ink-making process themselves and take their finished ink home. Using a selection of pre-made botanical inks, participants will experiment with colour-changing modifiers and explore the remarkable shifts and transformations that can occur on the page.

This exploratory workshop celebrates curiosity, experimentation and the unexpected. No previous art experience is necessary.

Nikki Miles is an artist and botanical colour maker whose practice explores the colours held within plants, fungi, lichens and earth.
