Common names: heart-seed love grass (English).
Botanical name: Eragrostis capensis

Eragrostis capensis, also called heart-seed love grass, is a hardy, densely tufted perennial grass. It has slender, blue-green leaves with purple bases and erect, golden flower spikes. This attractive, fast-growing grass does well in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. It spreads to form clumps and looks beautiful interplanted with bulbs or around ponds. Eragrostis capensis appreciates being cut back yearly to remove thatch buildup. Seed-eating birds enjoy the flowers.
