Wood’s cotyledon, Cotyledon woodii is a succulent shrub with flat, grey-green leaves and striking, orange to red flowers that attract birds. It is native to the wooded valleys and rocky outcrops of the Western and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa, where it grows in hot and dry conditions. It is suitable for rockeries or containers and can withstand light frost. It can be easily propagated from cuttings or seed.
