Pamela Martinez is originally from Peru. She studied anthropology and spent some time working up in the Peruvian Andes where she always felt connected to nature. A few years ago she moved to Cape Town with her husband and children and studied an online herbalism course with the Chestnut school of herbal medicine in the USA. She then included herbs and encouraged nature exploration in the outdoor classroom of the educational programme. Interested in the outdoor and nature educational approach, she studied to become a forest school leader and she now uses the forest school ethos to explore nature with children and connect them to our natural environment through exploration, play and games, and connecting to our natural environment; our trees, plants, and our indigenous flora.
