Plant Summary

Cotyledon orbiculata, known as pig’s ears, is a fast-growing succulent with thick, round leaves that may be green or grey, often with red margins. It produces clusters of tubular flowers in winter or summer, attracting bees and birds. This plant has various medicinal uses, such as treating corns, warts, boils, earache and epilepsy. It is easy to grow in well-drained soil, full sun or semi-shade, and can be propagated by seed or cuttings. It is ideal for rockeries, pots, borders and water-wise gardens.
