Plant Summary

Dombeya rotundifolia, also known as wild pear, is a fast-growing, frost and drought-resistant tree with a single stem and a rounded crown. It bears white blooms in early spring, resembling a true pear in full flower, but is not related to the pear tree. The tree is both frost and drought resistant, with flowers appearing from July to September, attracting bees and butterflies. Used for various traditional purposes, such as making strong rope fiber from its bark, love potions from flowers, and as a medicinal plant.
