Botanical name: Syncarpha eximia

Syncarpha eximia, also known as the strawberry everlasting, is a striking perennial shrub with showy red and orange flower heads that resemble ripe strawberries. It grows on moist sandstone slopes in the fynbos region of South Africa, where it attracts pollinators such as butterflies and beetles. It is also used medicinally for liver disease, croup and diphtheria. This plant is one of the most attractive everlastings and has great horticultural potential. It prefers a cool, sunny and well-drained spot in the garden, and can be grown from seed after smoke treatment. Syncarpha eximia is a fire ephemeral that reappears after a fire.
