Monopsis lutea, also known as yellow monopsis or gold lobelia, is a flat-growing, trailing perennial ground cover with bright yellow flowers that resemble little faces. It grows in damp places and moist sandy soils. It attracts butterflies, bees and birds with its nectar and seeds. It is easy to grow and propagate, and ideal for adding colour and texture to hanging baskets, pots, borders and ponds. It prefers full sun and regular watering, and flowers from summer to autumn.
