Albuca maxima is a striking South African plant known for its towering flowering stems and distinctive blooms. It originates from a bulb and features 3 to 6 broad leaves that interestingly wither by bloom time. Its nodding, white and green striped flowers bloom in spring, attracting bees. Adaptable to coastal sandy soils, it’s drought-resistant, ideal for rock gardens or containers, and is low-maintenance. This winter-growing plant goes dormant in summer and prefers well-drained, sunny spots.
